The dentists of A S Rao Nagar still own their page one, and almost nobody else in the colony does. On 15 October 2026, eight weeks after our first read of this belt, we searched three trades a household here buys from: a dentist, a CBSE school with admissions open, and a cake shop. Of 28 first page results, 8 belonged to a business's own website, and 6 of those 8 were dental clinics. One school, Akshara International, held two results on its own domain with 2027-28 admissions already open. The cake shops held none: all ten results for a bakery in A S Rao Nagar were Zomato or Justdial pages, including the one for Karachi Bakery, a Hyderabad name older than the colony.

This is the second pass on A S Rao Nagar. Our August page counted 24 directories in 35 results and said what a profile and a page should do. This one reads three trades by name, and adds the one thing about this colony that trips up a map engine: its name is spelled four ways and its pin code belongs to ECIL too.

What did the three searches return?

The dentist search returned nine results and six were clinic owned. Three were chain locality pages, Apollo Dental on the main road near the KFC, FMS Dental above the Kotak Mahindra Bank in Anupuram Colony, and Partha Dental near Gokul Nagar. Three were independent clinics on their own domains: Smile Dental and Implant Centre near Kapra circle, Galaxy Dental Care above the SBI near Radhika Theatre, and a clinic that bought the domain asraonagardental.in and put the colony in the address bar. The other three results were MyUpchar, ClinicSpots and the Wikipedia page for the colony. In August we found five dental clinics on their own pages. The trade has held and added one.

The school search returned nine and one school owned any of it. Akshara International School, at Bharat Nagar Colony on the Kushaiguda side, held its homepage and a page built for the colony's name, both saying admissions for 2027-28 are open, with the 2026-27 fee table still visible from 70,000 rupees a year for nursery to 1,30,000 for class ten, published by the school itself. Every other result was a directory, Edustoke twice, SchoolMyKids, SchoolsUniverse and Yellowslate, whose page claims 412 CBSE schools in A S Rao Nagar, a number no parent here would believe, or a Wikipedia page for a school in another state. PACE and DAV Public School, both real schools in the belt, appeared only as directory rows.

The cake search returned ten and none was a bakery's own page. Seven were Zomato listings, CakeZone at Maruthi Arcade in Swamik Nagar twice, Just Bake, Karachi Bakery on the ECIL main road at Rukmanipur, Cake Creations in Srinivasa Colony, Cake L'amore, and a cheesecake brand run from the CakeZone kitchen. Three were Justdial. Six bakeries named on page one, every one of them paying a platform for the order and letting the platform set the rating beside the name.

Why the name itself is the problem

The colony is named for Dr Ayyagari Sambasiva Rao, the founder of ECIL, and the official form is Dr A S Rao Nagar. The post office writes Dr As Rao Nagar. Edustoke writes Dr As Rao Nagar, MyUpchar writes AS Rao Nagar, Zomato writes A S Rao Nagar, residents say ASR Nagar, and the Wikipedia page carries the full stops. Four spellings for one place, and a search engine treats each as a slightly different string. A page that uses one spelling matches one quarter of the searches.

The pin code makes it worse. Dr A S Rao Nagar and ECIL share 500062, and the ECIL sub post office sits inside the area, so a map engine reading the pin alone cannot tell a clinic in Anupuram Colony from a mobile shop at the X Roads. What separates them is the colony name, the road and the landmark, which is exactly what the dentists put on their pages and the bakeries leave to Zomato.

The dentists also show what a page here is for. The clinic that bought the colony's name as its domain, the clinic that lists the bank it sits above, the clinic that names Radhika Theatre: each has written the directions a patient gives over the phone. That is why three independent clinics sit beside three chains on page one and no bakery sits beside Zomato.

What a school or a bakery here should do this month

Write the name four ways. Dr A S Rao Nagar in the title tag, A S Rao Nagar and AS Rao Nagar in the first paragraph, ASR Nagar once where a local would say it. Then the colony, Anupuram, Swamik Nagar, Srinivasa Colony, Bharat Nagar, and the landmark.

Schools: put this year's fee and this year's dates on your own page. Akshara is the only school in the belt whose 2027-28 status is on its own site; the rest are letting Edustoke publish last year's fee under their name. Our preschool admissions playbook has the October to March sequence.

Bakeries: keep Zomato, add a page. One page with the counter's number, the custom cake lead time, the colonies you deliver to and the eggless range, so that the order for a birthday in Kapra reaches you without a commission. Karachi Bakery has a brand; it has no page for this outlet, and the platform fills the gap.
