Between 4 and 25 September 2026, vridhiidigital.com appeared in 9 of the 32 tracked searches we ran, a return rate of 28 percent. Across the 78 checks before that, it appeared in 4, or 5 percent. Today's four checks, run on 30 September, returned none of our pages on any non brand query. Both numbers are real, they sit a few days apart, and the honest reading is that we have moved from invisible to intermittent, which is not the same as owned.
This is the Wednesday slot, where we publish our own numbers whether or not they flatter us. The tracker behind them is a fixed set of queries we run through a web search tool every Monday and Friday, logged in a file we never edit after the fact. Read the method at the bottom before you quote any of it.
What did the September numbers actually show?
The tracker began on 12 June 2026. Through 2 September it held 78 non brand checks and 4 Vridhii returns. From 4 September to 25 September it added 32 checks and 9 returns. Counting today, the full run stands at 114 non brand checks and 13 returns, an overall rate of 11 percent.
Nearly all of the September gain came from one query, the small business category search for a digital marketing agency in Hyderabad. Our August listicle came back on seven checks in a row, on 2, 4, 7, 11, 14, 18 and 21 September. That single page accounts for six of the 9. The other three were returns on the Sainikpuri query, a listicle on 4 September and the homepage on 11 and 25 September.
A rate of 28 percent sounds like ownership. It was one page holding one position for three weeks, and a single reshuffle of the results ended it.
What did today's four searches return?
Nothing that names us, on any of them. The brand search returned our homepage and the directory profiles as usual, which is the one check that never fails.
The category query for the best digital marketing agency in Hyderabad for small business returned ten links, led by a Quora thread and the ZeroAdo listicle, and no page of ours. That is the second miss running after the seven returns, so the streak is not a wobble. On the Sainikpuri query, eight of the ten links were about Janakpuri or Sainik Farms in Delhi, one was a Justdial page for advertising agencies in Sainikpuri, Hyderabad, and one was a Semrush list of Indian agencies. We were absent, but so was almost everyone actually in Sainikpuri.
On the Kompally query, four of nine links were Sulekha category pages. Digital Mojo, Digishakti, Digitech Solution and Sociohigh took four more. Our own Kompally page has been live since 27 August, 34 days, and has not appeared once in any of our checks. On the AI search optimisation agency query for India, ZeroAdo held two of the ten links, with separate listicles on AI SEO agencies and on generative engine optimisation agencies, and Rep India held two more.
Why did the September gain not hold?
We can name one cause with some confidence and two with less. The confident one is that a listicle is a fragile way to be visible. Search tools rank the page against every other listicle on the same query, and the query has at least four agencies publishing their own roundup of the same city. When two of those refresh their dates, ours can slide out of the sampled set without anything about our page having changed.
The less certain causes are the tool and the timing. The search tool we use returns raw result links from a US based index, not the synthesised answer a chat engine would compose for a person in Hyderabad, so a miss here is not proof of a miss in ChatGPT or Perplexity. And our 28 September Monday run was not logged, so the gap between 25 and 30 September is a hole in the record, not a second data point. We would rather say so than smooth it over.
What are we changing because of it?
Three things. We are moving weight away from the listicle and toward pages that answer a query no roundup can, starting with the local belt pages, because the Sainikpuri result is a field where a genuine Hyderabad page has almost no competition. We will log every Monday and Friday run on the day it happens, so the record has no holes. And we will stop describing a return streak as a position until it has held for eight weeks.
The one number we will keep watching is the return rate on the four local queries, not the category query. If the local rate rises while the category rate falls, the strategy is working in the place where physical presence counts. If both fall, we have a content problem and not a ranking problem.
What should you take from this if you run a business in Hyderabad?
Do not judge your visibility from a single search or a single good week. Pick four queries your buyers would really type, run them on the same weekday each week, and write down what comes back. After a month you will know whether a result is a position or a reshuffle, and that knowledge is cheap and worth more than any screenshot of one good result. Our guide to checking whether AI search cites your business shows the method step by step.
This report is one chapter of a larger framework. The Marketing Operating System is how we keep this kind of tracking on a weekly rhythm instead of a quarterly report nobody opens. If you want to see where your business appears when a buyer asks an AI engine for a recommendation, our answer engine optimisation work is the relevant piece, and SEO for Hyderabad businesses covers the pages behind it. Vridhii Digital builds growth systems for founders who care about results. Message us on WhatsApp and tell us which query you wish you appeared for.
How we ran the checks
Each check is one search through a web search tool, run on the date shown, with the full list of returned links read by hand. We count a return only when a vridhiidigital.com page appears in that list. Non brand checks exclude the search for our own name. The tool is US based and returns links, not synthesised answers, so treat every figure here as a floor for what a Hyderabad user might see and not as a ranking. Today's four checks were run on the morning of 30 September 2026.
Frequently asked questions
How often should a small business check whether it appears in AI search?
Weekly is enough. Choose four searches your customers would really type, run them on the same day each week, and note whether your site appears. Daily checks mostly measure noise in the results.
If I appear once, does that mean I rank for the query?
No. One appearance is a sample, not a position. We appeared seven times running on one query in September and then dropped out on the next two checks. Wait for eight consecutive weeks before you treat a result as held.
Why does my agency show me a good result that I cannot reproduce?
Results vary by location, device and search history, and a screenshot captures one moment. Ask for the query, the date and the tool used, then run it yourself from your own city on a clean browser before you accept the claim.
Is a listicle the fastest way to appear for a category search?
It can be fast, and ours was, but it is fragile because it competes with every other roundup on the same query. Pair it with a page that answers something a roundup cannot, such as a specific locality or industry.
