A buyer in a purchase department does not search for your company. They search for the part: stainless steel fabrication Hyderabad, injection moulded components Hyderabad, industrial valves Telangana. On 20 October 2026 we ran those three searches and read all 28 first page results. Fifteen were IndiaMART pages. Ten were other directories. Not one was a manufacturer's own website. That is the whole problem for a Hyderabad factory in one line, and this playbook is the seven step answer: a product page per buyer query on your own domain, with the specification, the address and the photographs the directory cannot carry, built in about a quarter for roughly what one trade show stall costs.

This is a Tuesday playbook for the operator, written for the owner of a unit in Jeedimetla, Cherlapally, Balanagar, Uppal or Patancheru who already has an IndiaMART listing and wants to know what to do next. It follows our industrial estate playbook from September, which covered the estate as a place; this one covers the product as a search.

What did we find reading 28 search results on 20 October 2026?

The stainless steel fabrication search returned nine results: two IndiaMART category pages, three IndiaMART company pages for Ranka Metals in Secunderabad, New Perfect Engineering Works and a Hyderabad grip products listing, two supplier directory pages for Jindal Stainless Steelway in Begumpet, which is a stockist rather than a fabricator, and two event listing pages on an obscure portal advertising Eminent Engineers of Kukatpally, dated 2018 and 2019. Eminent Engineers may well be the best heavy fabricator in the city. The page a buyer finds about it is a seven year old event notice.

The injection moulding search returned ten: eight IndiaMART pages across PVV Moulds in Kukatpally, Spin Molds and Tools in Secunderabad, A R Plastic Industries in Erragadda, Hobby Tools and Components and Ashok Brand, one CB Insights company profile, and one business for sale listing on Smergers for a Hyderabad moulding unit seeking investment. The firms the search engine's own summary named as established, Vidhata Plastics since 1991 and OPM Plastics, appeared only inside that summary, not as a result a buyer could click.

The valves search returned nine: a plant automation supplier directory entry for Fluidcheck Valves of IDA Uppal, a manufacturer since 1967, an EnggPro listing for RS Valve and Products, two IndiaMART pages including D and H Valves of Secunderabad, three ExportersIndia pages and two Dial4Trade pages. Fluidcheck has made diaphragm and pinch valves for pharmaceutical and power customers for fifty nine years. Its own site did not appear.

The original number. Across 3 Hyderabad product searches run on 20 October 2026 (stainless steel fabrication manufacturer Hyderabad; injection moulding components manufacturer Hyderabad; industrial valves manufacturer Hyderabad Telangana), 28 first page results were counted: 15 IndiaMART pages, 10 other directory or profile pages (ExportersIndia 3, Dial4Trade 2, steel-technology 2, CB Insights, Plant Automation Technology, EnggPro), 3 other (2 event notices, 1 business for sale listing), and 0 manufacturer owned websites. Logged as data ledger entry 65, a first party read by the same method as our locality reads. Caveat: the search tool samples raw links from outside India, so a buyer in Hyderabad may see a slightly different page; the shape, directories over factories, matches what we found for ECIL shops and A S Rao Nagar bakeries.

Why does it matter if the directory answers the search? Because the directory answers it for everyone at once. The IndiaMART page for stainless steel fabricators in Hyderabad lists your competitors beside you, ranks by who paid for the catalogue and who replied fastest, and shows a price range you did not set. The buyer sends one enquiry to six suppliers and the order goes to whoever quotes lowest by Thursday. A page you own answers the search for you alone, and it can carry the one thing that wins industrial orders at a margin: proof that you can make the part to the standard, on time.

What is the sequence to follow?

One. Write down the five searches your best buyers would type. Not your company name and not your category. The part, the process and the city: SS 316 pressure vessel fabrication Hyderabad, precision turned components Telangana, flanged butterfly valve manufacturer Hyderabad. Ask the person who answers your IndiaMART enquiries what buyers actually ask for; the words in their messages are the searches.

Two. Run each search yourself and count what comes back. Our count took forty minutes for three searches. If every result is a directory, the page you are about to build has no factory competing with it, which is the position we found on all three searches today.

Three. Build one product page per search on your own domain. The heading is the search, in the buyer's words. The page carries a specification table in the units the buyer uses, the material grades and the standards you work to, lead time, minimum order and the certifications with their numbers. It carries your industrial estate address with the pin code, because a buyer in Pune checking whether you are real will look for Cherlapally or Jeedimetla, not for Hyderabad. A manufacturer with five products needs five pages, not one page with five paragraphs.

Four. Photograph the part and the floor yourselves. Not a stock image of a factory. Your machine, your part on your bench, your dispatch bay, with the date in the file name. Buyers in procurement have seen every stock photograph; a slightly dark picture of your own CNC bay is worth more than any of them. Add one short film if a phone can be held steady for thirty seconds.

Five. Keep IndiaMART, and point it home. The listing held 15 of 28 results today, so it is where the buyer lands first. Keep it accurate, answer within the hour, and make sure the company page on the directory carries your own domain, so the buyer who wants to check you out finds the page you built in step three rather than a seven year old event notice.

Six. Route the enquiry to the person who quotes. A WhatsApp button and a telephone number on every product page, reaching whoever can give a price the same day. Track which page each call came from, because our own read of the calls gap found that phone enquiries vanish from every report unless somebody writes them down. A manufacturer that cannot say which product page produced last month's orders cannot decide which page to build next.

Seven. Put the same five searches into an AI tool once a month and read what it says about you. AI search optimisation, AIO on this site, means being the firm ChatGPT or Gemini names when a buyer asks it to find a valve manufacturer in Hyderabad, as distinct from search engine optimisation, SEO, which is being the page Google ranks. Today the engine's own summary named Vidhata, OPM and Fluidcheck from directory data. A product page with the specification and the address gives it something better to read. Our AI search page covers the method.

What does this cost, and how long before it works?

Market cost, not our quote. Published Indian agency guides put the floor for a monthly digital marketing engagement at fifteen to twenty thousand rupees a month before any ad spend, per BeTopSEO in May 2026 and Digihify in April 2026, which we set out in our pricing post. Five product pages with photographs, a specification table each and the tracking in step six is a project of about a quarter at that floor, or one afternoon per page if the owner's son or daughter builds them on the existing site, which several Jeedimetla units have done well. The photographs cost a phone. The trade show stall you might have booked instead costs more than either, and it closes on Sunday.

Timeline. Pages on a domain that already exists usually appear for a product plus city search within four to six weeks, because, as today's count shows, nothing factory owned is competing for the position. Enquiries depend on how many buyers search the part in a month; for a niche component that may be ten people, and one of them sending a drawing is the result. Judge the page at ninety days, not thirty, and judge it on quotations sent rather than visits.

Who should ignore this. A unit that sells its entire output to two or three OEM accounts on annual contracts does not need a product page, it needs a quality manager who visits the client. A job shop with no spare capacity should not create enquiries it cannot serve. A manufacturer whose product is sold only through tender should put the effort into the tender portal profile instead. Everyone else in the estates north of the city has an open position on their own product search today, and it is open because no factory has filled it.

Our manufacturing growth page describes how we run this for a unit that would rather not build the pages itself, and the Marketing Operating System is the weekly rhythm that keeps the count in step two honest, including the months when the page brings nothing and we say so.

Frequently asked questions

Should a Hyderabad manufacturer leave IndiaMART if it builds its own product pages?

No. IndiaMART held 15 of the 28 first page results we read on 20 October 2026, so leaving it means leaving the page a buyer lands on. Keep the listing, keep it accurate, and build the product page on your own domain so that the buyer who clicks through from the listing, or who searches again with your name, finds a page you control with the specification, the address and the photographs.

How many product pages does a small factory need?

One per product a buyer would search for by name, usually five to eight for a job shop. A page for the company and a page for each machine is the wrong shape; a buyer types the part, not the lathe. Start with the three products that bring the largest orders and add one a month.

What should a manufacturer's product page carry that a directory listing cannot?

A specification table in the buyer's units, the material grades and standards you work to, your own photographs of the part and the shop floor, the industrial estate address with the pin code, GST and any ISO certificate numbers, lead time, minimum order and a WhatsApp or telephone route that reaches the person who quotes. Directories show a photograph and a price range; they cannot show a buyer that you exist.

How long before a product page brings an enquiry?

Plan on ninety days from publishing before judging it. Product plus city queries are low competition, which is why directory pages fill them today, so a specific page usually appears within weeks; the enquiry depends on how many buyers search that product each month, which for a niche part may be a handful. One qualified enquiry a month from a page that cost one afternoon is a good return.
