A patient does not search for your clinic. They search for a doctor: gynaecologist in Sainikpuri, orthopaedic doctor near ECIL, general physician in Malkajgiri. On 27 October 2026 we ran those three searches and read all 27 first page results. Twenty two were directory pages, Apollo 24|7, Lybrate, DocIndia, LogintoHealth, Credihealth. Three were corporate hospital pages from the other side of the city. Not one was a clinic's own page for its own doctor. Five days ago in Kompally one hospital held nine of ten paediatrician results by building a page per doctor. This playbook is that method, sized for a two to six doctor clinic in the north Hyderabad belt, in seven steps, with the cost and the timeline.

This is the third clinic playbook on this site after dental clinics in August and physiotherapy in September. Those covered the clinic as a business. This one covers the doctor as a search, because that is what the patient types.

What did we find reading 27 search results on 27 October 2026?

The gynaecologist search returned nine results: five Apollo 24|7 directory pages for obstetricians and gynaecologists in Secunderabad, two LogintoHealth directory pages listing doctors on St John's Road, one Bajaj Finserv Health page for the wrong district entirely, and one promotional page for a named gynaecologist hosted on a hijacked environmental charity domain. Not one result mentioned Sainikpuri. The engine's own summary said so, and suggested Google Maps instead. Every maternity clinic and lady doctor between Sainikpuri and Neredmet is invisible to this search, and the belt has several.

The orthopaedic search returned nine: three Apollo 24|7 pages, two DocIndia directory pages, which were the only two that placed a doctor near ECIL, Dr Vishwanath Karne at Anupuram and Dr VSN Raju at ARC Hospital in Kapra, one Credihealth page, and three hospital owned pages, Gleneagles at Lakdi ka pul, CARE's best ortho doctor campaign page, and PACE in HITEC City, each between fifteen and twenty five kilometres from the ECIL crossroads. The two doctors who actually practise near ECIL reached the page only through a directory nobody in the belt has heard of.

The general physician search returned nine: four Lybrate pages for AOC Gate, Anandbagh, GK Colony and Lalapet, three Apollo 24|7 pages for Keshogiri, one LogintoHealth page and one junk bookmarking page. Lybrate's pages named the clinics a Malkajgiri household actually uses, Sri R K Speciality Clinic, B V Rao Clinic, L K Hospital, Dr TVS Kumar's clinic, Prashanthi Ortho and Maternity, with evening timings and consultation fees. None of those clinics had a page of its own in the result. Their fees and hours are published by Lybrate, and Lybrate decides when they were last updated.

The original number. Across 3 north Hyderabad doctor searches run on 27 October 2026 (gynaecologist in Sainikpuri Secunderabad; orthopaedic doctor near ECIL Hyderabad; general physician clinic Malkajgiri Hyderabad), 27 first page results were counted: 22 directory or platform pages (Apollo 24|7 11, Lybrate 4, LogintoHealth 3, DocIndia 2, Credihealth 1, Bajaj Finserv Health 1), 3 corporate hospital pages (Gleneagles, CARE, PACE, none within 15 km of the search locality), 2 junk pages, and 0 independent clinic or doctor owned pages. Only 2 of 27 results placed a doctor in the locality searched, both through DocIndia on the ECIL query; the Sainikpuri and Malkajgiri queries returned 0 locality matched results. Logged as data ledger entry 70, a first party read by the same method as our locality and product reads.

Why it matters: a directory page answers the search for every doctor at once, ranks by who pays for the listing, and shows a fee you did not set. When the patient wants to check that the doctor is real, the directory links to the hospital's page if there is one and to nothing if there is not. For an independent clinic, nothing is what the patient finds.

What is the sequence to follow?

One. List every doctor who consults at the clinic, including visiting consultants. Each one is a search. A four doctor polyclinic with two visiting specialists is six searches, not one, and today none of them return you.

Two. Run each doctor's specialty plus your locality and count what comes back. Forty minutes for six searches. If the result is all directories, as it was for all three of ours today, the page you are about to build has no clinic competing with it.

Three. Build one page per doctor on your own domain. The heading is the specialty and the locality in the patient's words: gynaecologist in Sainikpuri, not consultant obstetrician. The page carries the doctor's full name, qualifications and registration number, the conditions and procedures they handle in plain words, consultation days and timings, the fee if you choose to publish it, the clinic address with the landmark a patient uses, and a WhatsApp button that reaches the reception. The doctor approves every word. The hospital in Kompally built this page for each of its paediatricians and it is why it holds the result.

Four. Build one page per specialty the clinic is known for, and one per question patients ask most. Is a lady doctor available on Sunday. Do you do a knee X ray on the premises. Can I see the physician without an appointment in the evening. Each is a page, short, with the locality in it, answered by the person who answers it on the phone.

Five. Keep the directory listings, and make them point home. Apollo 24|7, Practo and Lybrate held 22 of 27 results today, so they are where the patient lands first. Keep every listing accurate, with the same spelling of the doctor's name and the same timings as your own page, and make sure the clinic's own domain is on each profile, so the patient who checks finds the page from step three.

Six. Route the call and the message to a person, and write both down. A patient who calls after finding the page is an enquiry nobody will count unless reception logs it against the page. Our read of the calls gap covers why phone enquiries vanish from every report; a clinic that cannot say which doctor page produced last month's new patients cannot decide which page to write next.

Seven. Once a month, ask an AI tool the same six searches and read what it says. AI search optimisation, AIO on this site, means being the clinic ChatGPT or Gemini names when a patient asks it for a gynaecologist near Sainikpuri, as distinct from search engine optimisation, SEO, which is being the page Google ranks. Today the engine's summaries named doctors from directory data and sent the patient to Google Maps. A doctor page with the registration number, the timings and the landmark gives it something better to read. Our AI search page covers the method.

What does this cost, and how long before it works?

Market cost, not our quote. Published Indian agency guides put the floor for a monthly digital marketing engagement at fifteen to twenty thousand rupees a month before any ad spend, per BeTopSEO in May 2026 and Digihify in April 2026, which we set out in our pricing post. Ten doctor and specialty pages with photographs of the actual consulting rooms, the directory clean up in step five and the logging in step six is a project of about a quarter at that floor, or one evening per page if the clinic's own administrator writes them with each doctor, which is how the smaller dental clinics in A S Rao Nagar did it. The photographs cost a phone. A single month of a paid directory's premium listing often costs more than one page that is yours for good.

Timeline. A doctor page on a domain that already exists usually appears for the specialty plus locality search within four to six weeks, because today's count shows nothing clinic owned is competing for the position. New patients depend on how many people search that specialty in the belt each month: dozens for a gynaecologist or a physician, a handful for a niche specialty. Judge at ninety days on calls and messages logged against each page, not on page views.

Who should ignore this. A doctor who consults only inside a corporate hospital, whose employer already holds the page, as Gleneagles, CARE and PACE do. A clinic that is full by nine in the morning and would rather not be found. A practice whose patients come entirely by referral from one or two senior doctors, for whom a dinner matters more than a page. Everyone else between Sainikpuri and Malkajgiri has an open position on their own doctor's search today, and it is open because no clinic has filled it.

Our clinic patient acquisition page describes how we run this for a clinic that would rather not build the pages itself, and the Marketing Operating System is the weekly rhythm that keeps the count in step two honest, including the months when a page brings nothing and we say so.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a clinic need a page per doctor when Practo already lists each doctor?

Because on 27 October 2026, across three north Hyderabad doctor searches, 22 of 27 first page results were directory pages and 0 were a clinic's own page. A directory page lists your doctor beside twelve others with a fee you did not set. A page on your own domain for the same doctor carries the qualification, the conditions treated, the timings, the landmark and the WhatsApp route, and it is the page the directory links to when a patient wants to check. The hospital that held nine of ten paediatrician results in Kompally on 22 October did exactly this.

How many pages is that for a four doctor polyclinic?

About ten to start: one per doctor, one per specialty the clinic is known for, and one or two for the questions patients ask most, such as whether a lady doctor is available on Sundays. Each page carries the locality in the heading. Add one condition page a month after that, written by or with the doctor concerned.

Is this allowed under the medical advertising rules?

A page that states a doctor's name, qualifications, registration, specialty, timings and address is information, which the Indian Medical Council's professional conduct regulations permit; what they bar is solicitation, claims of cure, and comparative or superlative language. Keep every page to facts a patient can verify and have the doctor approve the text. Confirm the current position with your State Medical Council before publishing, and our law practice playbook covers the same principle for advocates.

How long before a doctor page brings a patient?

Four to six weeks for the page to appear on a doctor plus locality search, because, as today's count shows, nothing clinic owned is competing for the position. Patient enquiries depend on how many people search that specialty in your belt each month; for a gynaecologist near Sainikpuri that is dozens, for a niche specialty it may be a handful. Judge at ninety days on calls and WhatsApp messages logged against the page, not on visits.
