Since 26 August 2026, when our citation tracker took its current shape, we have run 83 non brand checks across seventeen fixed queries. Fifteen returned a page of ours. All fifteen came from two queries: digital marketing agency in Sainikpuri, seven times, and best digital marketing agency in Hyderabad for small business, eight times. The other fifteen queries, across the ownership, vertical and international groups, have returned us zero times in 37 checks. That is our October citation report, three weeks in, and it is the first one we have cut by query group rather than by week. The groups tell a plainer story than the weeks did.
A word on the words. Search engine optimisation, SEO for short, is showing up on Google without paying per click. AI search optimisation, AIO on this site, is being the business ChatGPT, Gemini or an AI search tool names when someone asks a question. A citation check is our proxy for the second: a fixed query, run through a web search tool on a fixed day, with a note of whether any page of ours was among the results. The method is in the 11 September post; the caveats are at the end.
What the table says by group
| Query group | Queries | Checks since 26 Aug | Returns | What returned |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Category (Hyderabad wide) | 4 | 19 | 8 | The 10 August small business shortlist, six times through one third party list in September, twice as our own page |
| Local (north Hyderabad belt) | 4 | 27 | 7 | The homepage, on the Sainikpuri query only; never the Sainikpuri page built for it |
| Ownership (AI search terms) | 3 | 17 | 0 | Nothing. RepIndia, ZeroAdo and geoscience institutes hold the field |
| Vertical (schools, clinics, manufacturing) | 3 | 10 | 0 | Nothing. Doctors Digital Agency, ClinicSpots and directories |
| International (UK, Dubai) | 3 | 10 | 0 | Nothing in four checks since the 10 October baseline |
By month the same checks read: 2 returns from 12 checks in the last week of August, 10 from 41 in September, 3 from 30 in October to the 19th. September looked like a trend. The group table shows it was one third party listicle carrying our small business page on six consecutive checks, and when that list dropped out of the results on 25 September the returns went with it. October's three are the Sainikpuri homepage twice and, on 16 October, our own small business page at position nine, the first time it has been the page returned rather than a list that named it. It did not repeat on 19 October.
The original number. Of 83 non brand citation checks logged between 26 August and 19 October 2026 across 17 fixed queries, 15 returned a vridhiidigital.com page, and all 15 came from 2 queries. The ownership group (3 queries, 17 checks), the vertical group (3 queries, 10 checks) and the international group (3 queries, 10 checks) returned 0 between them. The tracker's full count since 12 June, in its earlier format, stands at 141 checks and 16 returns. Logged as data ledger entry 66, derived from blog/ai_citation_tracker.md, which anyone may read.
Why the two queries return and the fifteen do not
The two returning queries share two things the others lack. Age: the small business shortlist is from 10 August and the homepage is the oldest page on the site. Links: both carry more inbound links from our own posts than any vertical or international page, because every weekly post links home and most of the shortlists link to the August one. The ownership queries have pages behind them too, the AI search service page and the GEO agency post from 30 August, but those compete with RepIndia and ZeroAdo pages that are years older and, on the GEO query, with the National Geophysical Research Institute, because in India that acronym still means rocks.
The vertical group is the one that should worry us most, because it is where the Tuesday playbooks go. Three queries, ten checks, zero returns, with the healthcare query owned by Doctors Digital Agency and ClinicSpots on every check since July. Our healthcare shortlist from 7 September and our physiotherapy and dental playbooks have not surfaced once. The pages are good. They are young, they link out more than they are linked to, and they sit in a field that has been there since before we started.
The international group is three weeks old and reads exactly as the 10 October baseline predicted: zero, with a Hyderabad firm that has a Dubai office appearing instead on the Dubai query. Nothing in three checks is not a verdict. Nothing in twelve would be.
What we are changing because of it
First, the Sainikpuri page gets the title and heading the query uses. Seven returns in 27 local checks, every one of them the homepage, means the page built for the query has never been the page returned, and the fix has sat on the founder's list since 1 October. It moves to the top.
Second, the vertical pages get the internal links they lack. Each Tuesday playbook from now on links to the two older posts in its vertical and gets a dated link back from them the same week, which is the sweep we have run for weekly posts since 9 October but have not run backwards through the August and September playbooks.
Third, we stop reading the weekly number. The Friday and Monday runs continue, the tracker stays public, but the report we act on is this one, by group, on the last Wednesday of each month. A week is noise. A group over a quarter is a signal, and the signal today is that two of five groups work and three have not started.
What you should take from this if you run a business in Hyderabad
Our reads this week found zero agency owned websites across 28 results for performance marketing queries on 19 October and zero factory owned websites across 28 results for product queries on 20 October. Most businesses here are not at 15 of 83. They are at zero of everything, with a directory speaking for them. The method above costs an hour a week and a spreadsheet, and the first month will read as a column of zeros. That column is the baseline, and it is worth more than any agency's claim, ours included, because it is dated and it is yours.
How we ran the checks
Every check is a fixed query run through a US based web search tool that returns raw result links, not a synthesised chat answer. We log the date, the query, whether any vridhiidigital.com page appeared, and the first nine or ten results by name. Monday runs re check three or four queries; Friday runs the full set with the brand query. The 26 August cut is where the table format became consistent enough to count by group by machine; the June to August checks are in the same file in an earlier format and are inside the 141 total but not the group breakdown. A query that returned us through a third party list is counted as a return, because an AI tool reading that list has us to cite; we note which kind it was. The Marketing Operating System is the weekly rhythm that keeps this file honest, including on the Wednesdays when the honest number is three.
Frequently asked questions
What does a citation check actually measure?
Whether a page from our own site appears among the sampled results when a fixed query is run through a web search tool, twice a week, on a dated schedule. It is a proxy for whether an AI tool reading those results would have us to cite. It is not a chat answer, not a ranking position, and not Indian search traffic; the tool is US based. The method is in our 11 September post on checking whether AI search cites you.
Why do the vertical and international queries return nothing?
Because the pages written for them are new and sit alone. The international page is three weeks old with two inbound links. The vertical playbooks are each one post inside a field of established directories. The two queries that do return us are the two where we have the oldest page and the most internal links, which is the pattern a business should expect: returns follow age and links, not publication.
Is 15 returns from 83 checks good or bad?
Bad against our own target, which was category ownership by October, and ordinary against the field, where most Hyderabad agencies appear on no query at all except through a directory. The honest reading is that two pages are working, fifteen are not yet, and the next quarter is about the fifteen.
What should a Hyderabad business copy from this?
The method, not the numbers. Pick ten queries a customer would type, run them on a fixed day each week, write down what returned, and read the table by group once a month. Our 19 and 20 October reads found zero agency owned and zero factory owned websites on the queries we checked, so most businesses here start from a table of zeros, as we did in June.
